The Lodge at Chaa Creek

Chaa Creek offers a unique rainforest adventure in natural and safe surroundings. Situated in a 330-acre private nature reserve, it is well staffed and features spacious lawns and manicured walkways surrounding the cottages, dining and recreational areas. The miles of reserve trails are well maintained, yet offer an exciting view into the rainforest environment. The Macal River, which is only a short walk from the cottages and provides some of the best swimming and canoeing in Belize.

The cottage compound, within the Chaa Creek Nature Reserve, provides a perfect compromise between comfort and a true wilderness experience. Each palm-thatched cottage has Mexican tiled floors, large mahogany beds, original artwork and private bathrooms with hot showers. Spacious sundeck verandahs allow guests to view wildlife and interact with nature.

Chaa Creek's cuisine features a mixture of Caribbean, Mexican and Belizean dishes served under an enormous umbrella of thatch in our large, airy restaurant with its own temperature-controlled wine cellar. The dining room, bar and cottages are all constructed from local hardwoods and thatched with bay leaf palm.

A range of activities including hiking, swimming, canoeing, horseback riding, bird-watching, guided nature walks and river trips are available, and the Reserve's Natural History Centre and Butterfly Farm are within easy walking distance of the cottages.

For relaxation after an active day, guests can visit the Spa at Chaa Creek and select from a wide range of exotic treatments by our highly trained staff. Additionally, our guests can opt to have a massage on their private sundeck verandahs for a truly tranquil and extraordinary sensory experience.
